Aaron’ paintings combine traditional technique with Impressionist color sensibility, exploring the beauty of the Cape Cod landscape, the interplay of light and color, and the human figure.
Aaron Souza’s work captures the essence of a scene through vibrant color and a keen understanding of light. He draws inspiration from the local landscape, and the American Impressionists, from Charles Hawthorne, Emile Gruppé and the Boston School artists.
Souza studied at the Cape School of Art in Provincetown, MA, after completing degrees in Painting and Art Education at Umass Dartmouth. At the Cape School of Art he honed his skills under the tutelage of renowned artists teaching at the Provincetown school. This training, combined with a deep appreciation for nature and the human figure, informs his unique artistic vision.
When not painting Souza enjoys drawing in a variety of mediums including silverpoint, graphite and charcoal.
